Talk: From mechanistic understandings to precision medicine: Ligustrazine facilitates Leflunomide attenuating progressive bone erosion in rheumatoid arthritis individuals with high serum C-reactive protein level

Dr. Zhang Ge (M.D.) got his Bachelor of Medicine in Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1995. After that, he finished his clinical training of Master of Medicine in Institute of Orthopedics & Traumatology in  Shanghai Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2000. Then, Dr. Zhang experienced his M.D. training in orthopedics & traumatology from Joint Program of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Chinese University of Hong Kong from 2000 to 2003.  After obtaining his M.D., Dr. Zhang had started his postdoctoral research in Department of Orthopedics & Traumatology in the Chinese University of Hong Kong from 2004 to 2006. Later, Dr. Zhang was promoted to Research Assistant Professor in the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2007. In 2012, Dr. Zhang was appointed as Associate Professor to join Hong Kong Baptist University to help establish Institute for Advancing Translational Medicine in Bone & Joint Diseases. In 2016, Dr. Zhang was promoted to Professor in Hong Kong Baptist University. His research focus is integration of Chinese medicine and western medicine. Currently, Dr. Zhang’s research interests are in basic science & translational research & precision medicine & drug discovery in orthopedics & traumatology, including osteoporosis, osteonecrosis, fracture repair, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Dr. Zhang has leaded his group to publish a series of research work in Nature Medicine, Nature Communication, Arthritis & Rheumatism, Biomaterial, Journal of Bone & Mineral Research, Bone and Osteoporosis International, et al.
